Dear Pine Mountain Racers, Family and interested Friends;

On behalf of the coaching staff in would like to congratulate everyone on our most successful year to date!  It seems like it was just yesterday when we got together for our Christmas Race Camp, and now the Season is OVER!  I am very pleased with all the things we have accomplished this year:

  1. We are proud to have the addition of our new Coaches, Bruce Laing, Tim Brooks and Missey Todd.
  2. We remodeled and reestablished our Team Room which provided a great space for Meeting, Tuning, Waxing and other activities.
  3. We had more offsite races this year than in both previous years combined!
  4. Our Pine Mountain Invite was INCREDIBLE!  It was fantastic to see all those Racers from other mountains at our ski area.
  5. I am very pleased to see the amount of parent participation in all activities this year, from organizing races, to gate keeping, score keeping, promotions, organization of events and everything in between.
  6. We have had the benefit this year, of having a well organized and supportive Board of Directors.  This function goes on behind the scenes, but, without the financial and organizational efforts that took place this year, we would not have had the privilege of all the new gear that was purchased.
  7. I saw this year a very special relationship develop between the Pine Mountain Ski Team and the High School Teams.  There was the willingness to provide access for our kids that wanted continue to race at a higher level to participate in HS Practices as well as to forerun at Home Events.  All these items are examples of a healthy and flourishing Team.

I would like to take the time to make special recognitions that need to go out to Dawn Cory, for again being a great Race Coordinator for the team,  Nancy Brooks for being our Communications Manager and taking it to the next level, and Ron Amour for doing a fantastic job of being our Team Photographer and ad-hoc Marketing Manager!  All these efforts are focused on one thing, the kids.  None of this would have happened if there were not the people that were willing to unselfishly volunteer their time to support this very worthwhile effort.  When I reflect on the year, and look at the progress that our racers made this year, in and outside the race course, I am struck by the awesome influence that has been provided for these young adults.  I feel that we have become THE place to come to, to get started in Alpine Racing.  This program will be responsible for providing well trained racers to the neighboring High School Teams as well as USSA.

I can’t express my appreciation enough for the commitment of the Racers and Volunteers for this year.  I hope you too; feel a similar pride in the progress this organization is making.  I pray that you will continue to support and promote our initiative for the direct benefit of your children and for the far reaching impact of how it will improve the lives of all involved.

Thanks again for your commitment and support,

Bud DeLano
