Another season is in the books. The 3rd season of the race league ended on a high note - with the temperatures in the 30's and excellent snow conditions. Awards were held in the Sitzmark -
Pine Mountain Sport Shop
donated prizes again including 2 Descente jackets values at $155.00 each and Scott goggle gift certificates.

Even though some of the weekly results were 'lost', we were able to still figure out the final results. Next season we need to make someone (else) in charge of the standings, news paper clips and awards.

The Overall Pine Mountain Cup Champions for 2008 were:

Tyler Hill - Men's division
Missy Todd - Women's division

The final race Nastar awards included the following:
Gold Metal Winners:

Nastar At Pine Mountain
See how you stack up to the best skiers in the country.

Racing experience is NOT necessary and everyone who wants to try the gates is invited - one just needs how to have fun and enjoy a few drinks after the evening of skiing.

The racing will take place every Wednesday evening starting in January - typically 7:00 PM - 8:00 PM.

The racing is in a Nastar format - ie. Giant Slalom gates (gates far apart) will be set up from the starting gate at the top of the Hematite lift and go down West Wall to the finish shack near the Sitzmark deck.

You need to fill out a release form in the finish shack and then just go up to the starting gate and wait for the starter to say "course is ready"... Then go as fast as you want - or as slow as you want. Your time will be announced when you are through the finish line and recorded on the finish sheet. The number of runs you can take all depends on the number of people that are there that evening - but at least 3 runs will be allowed. If it is crowded, then we will limit the number of runs to 3 each so everyone can enjoy the racing.

Your fastest time of the evening will be the one used for the weekly result sheet. To see a sample of the result sheet, click below to see last years results.
